Footwork

            Another very important thing u must learn how to do in order to play lockdown defense is learn good footwork. When u are on the defensive side of the ball u have to both tackle and check people to make sure they can not get a pass off. One way to work on your footwork is to get a ladder and put it flat on the ground. While the ladder is on the ground u must run threw it putting one foot in every box, run threw it skiping one box every step, shuffle threw it, jump threw it, etc. It is alot of different ladder drills you can do. And there is also a lot of different drills you can do to get your footwork up.

Tackling

    In the game of football one of the most important things that you must learn is how to tackle. There is a difference between tackling and making a big hit. When u make a big hit thats when u hear the crowd get hype and everyone gets off their feet, but making a tackle is getting the ball carrier to the ground. It does not matter if u hit him hard or if he hits u hard as long as he is on the ground. The correct way to tackle is to break down like you are squating over a toilet, shoot your arms up toward the ball carrier, then rap your arms fully around him and continue to drive your legs untill he falls down on the ground. Now it is possible to make a big hit and a perfect tackle at the same time. All you have to do is learn the correct way to tackle and apply it wit alot of force and you will make a big hit.
